Lots of different factors cause tooth discoloration. These factors fall under three broad categories: food and drink, lifestyle and personal habits, and dental hygiene.

Food and drink that have been proven to cause tooth discoloration include coffee, tea, dark sodas, red wine, fruits like strawberries, and so on. Personal habits like smoking cigarettes and chewing tobacco have since been implicated in tooth discoloration.

As well, poor dental hygiene, such as inadequate brushing or flossing, typically speeds up tooth discoloration.

Zoom! Tooth whitening is a form of laser treatment specially designed for teeth. The process is a simple, non-invasive procedure that lightens the discoloration of tooth enamel. It employs a unique lamp, called a Zoom light or Zoom laser, together with a hydrogen peroxide-based whitening gel.

The dentist applies a gel with a high concentration of hydrogen peroxide over the teeth and then shines the light on the gel. When the peroxide in the gel comes into contact with the intense light of the Zoom laser, the peroxide breaks down and dissolves a thin layer over the top of the tooth enamel. This thin layer releases oxygen into the teeth, which then helps flush out the discoloration set in the teeth.

Zoom! Tooth whitening is a simple, low-risk procedure that leaves the physical structures of your teeth intact while giving you a brighter smile.

Getting a dental implant is not painful because we perform the procedure with anesthesia to numb the mouth. The anesthesia could be either general or local, depending on how many implants you need and where you need us to place them. When the numbness from the anesthesia wears off after the procedure, you may feel mild pain.

An advantage that dental implants have over other tooth replacement options is that it does not limit you to certain foods. You can eat any type of food or drink any kind of beverage you want after receiving your dental implant. Therefore, food will not get stuck in your implant and the implant will effectively perform the same as your natural teeth.
